FTP (File Transfer Protocol) Instructions
Use
An FTP site is used to transfer files that may be too large to be sent via e-mail. The FTP site is a temporary storage for transferred files so any file left longer than 30 days will be deleted.
Setup
Please contact the network Administrator at MIE to supply you with a username and password.
Internal to MIE
- Go to Internet explorer
- In the address line type in ftp:10.10.10.5
- A Box will come up asking for Username and Password
- You must have a username and password assigned by MIE to use this site
- Enter your username and password and press enter.
- You will now be on the homepage for your username.
- You have read and write properties here.
- To place a file here just copy from somewhere else.
- Then right click and paste.
External to MIE
- Go to Internet explorer
- In the address line type in ftp:65.60.92.131
- A Box will come up asking for Username and Password
- You must have a username and password assigned by MIE to use this site
- Enter your username and password and press enter.
- You will now be on the homepage for your username.
- You have read and write properties here.
- To place a file here just copy from somewhere else.
- Then right click and paste.
To login as a guest
- Go to Internet explorer
- In the address line type in ftp:65.60.92.131
- A Box will come up asking for Username and Password
- Username = MIEGUEST
- Password=MIEGUEST
- You will now be on the homepage for your username.
- You have read rights only here.
- To download a file from here just right click then left click copy.
- Then paste it to your computer..
